After trying out four different bakers, I have decided to go with Karen Rodkey Cakes in Littlestown, PA for my wedding cake. When my search for wedding cake vendors began everyone kept bringing up the name Karen Rodkey. She bakes from her home and has done so for many years. She doesn’t have a website and doesn’t really need one. All her customers come to her by word of mouth. She has a wide variety of cakes, fillings and icings. Her cakes taste amazing! As if that wasn’t good enough, they also look like they would be tough competition on the Food Network’s Wedding Cake Challenge. She can make everything from a traditional cake to a “mad hatter” style cake.
I came to her with several ideas of what I had in mind and she took those and improved on them. She gave me suggestions that I would have never thought of and further improved the design. We decided on a four tiered hexagon shaped cake, flavors TBD.
One of the best parts about deciding on Karen was her very reasonable costs. Her cakes run from $3.50 up to $5.00 a slice depending on the flavors you choose and other add-ons. Location of the wedding is also taken into consideration when determining any additional travel fees.
Karen is a warm welcoming person and her talent for baking and decorating cakes is phenomenal! Another vendor highly recommended.
